During the Covid-19 lockdown Kristian and Georgie knew that they had valuable contacts with local food suppliers as well as the space and time to start a temporary village shop, inside the Ye Olde Dun Cow, to help the locals of Colton buy essential items as well as lifting their spirits with a supply of homemade scotch eggs, quiches, pies, cream teas, cakes and even selection of Gins! The cream teas proved particularly popular for the VE Day celebrations.
As lockdown eased and people were allowed to start venturing out again they added takeaway ice creams from local producer Needwood Ice Creams for people to be able to buy and enjoy in the beer garden or on a walk around Colton.
By popular demand Kristian and Georgie have decided to keep the shop going and have now constructed a purpose built “shed” to house the new shop and takeaway cafe, thus the name The Cow Shed.
Locals, walkers and cyclists from afar are all welcome at The Cow Shed – and if the pub isn’t open feel free to buy one of the beers from The Cow Shed fridge and have it on one of the tables in our beer garden!
